Add beauty to your everyday life

Here in Florida we are blessed with year-round flowers but with paper and scissors you can enjoy the beauty and versatility of flowers and greenery all year long!  The current Close To My Heart papercrafting kit will help you do that so easily. Here’s another consultants wreath and the extra piece she made with a few leftovers and some extras:

All the pieces come pre-cut and are so easy to put together.  You can purchase the “Welcome Home” kit for $18.95 or get it for FREE with a $60 qualifying purchase.  As an added bonus, I will be scheduling one or two workshops at my house if you’d like to assemble them with friends 🙂 and have access to my Cricut, inks and tools to assist you.

Get’em while you can

July marks the end of Close To My Heart’s 2015-16 Annual Inspirations book “life” and lots of products are retiring.  Among these are three of our Cricut cartridges so if you have been on the fence about getting them, you might want to consider getting one. Each of the CTMH cartridges have 700 images you can use, and they include a full set of cardstock and three coordinating stamp sets in addition to the cartridge.  The 3 retiring are Art Philosophy, Artiste and Artfully Sent.

AP Set

Our very first CTMH Cricut cartridge was “Art Philosophy” and it is still one of the cartridges I use the most.  I really love the many little boxes, brackets, frames it has in additional to basic shapes. There are flourishes and seals. The font is also so cute! The 3D rolled flowers are some of my favorites, too. It comes with 24 sheets of cardstock in the Enchantment color scheme. The 3 stamp sets included match shapes in the cartridge. You can see a summary of all 700 images here.

All the images in this picture were made with the AP cartridge – such a great tool!

AR Set

Artiste was the 2nd cartridge we introduced and brought me into the wonderful world of 3-D objects. All the stamps match cuts from the cartridge but it goes beyond the flat images.  It comes with an additional booklet to help you assemble the objects, too. Many of the items will help you get a “themed” project for parties and occasions like Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and Halloween, to occasions like birthdays and baby showers, plus clever motifs like signage, game night, gears, timepieces, awards, and more.  This set comes with 24 cardstock sheets in the Basics color scheme – beautiful creams and grays!  A summary of the Artiste shapes can be found here. Here are some sample pages from the assembly book:

Artiste - Milk Carton assembly p 17

The last retiring cartridge was really an incredible one for cardmakers, called “Artfully Sent.” Not only for cards with precuts to make creating unique cards a breeze but also making pop up cards!  With 700 images you can create any styled card you could want plus it comes with 25 themes pre-made for you, envelopes and shapes to match the cards. Card styles include pop-ups, scenes, sentiments, sleeves, and pocket cards. This one came with a cute alphabet stamp set “Curlicue” and sentiments to add to your cards in addition to 4 lovely matching curly frame stamps.  The cardstock that comes with this set is the Whimsy color palette.   Here’s the summary of shapes.

Like I said, everything from the AI is retiring the end of this month, the cartridges are available while supplies last so if you want them, I wouldn’t wait long simply because supply is limited.  I will try to post more info on retiring products but you can see the both current books online here.

P.S. The auction for Jen (see previous post) was a wonderful opportunity to see how generous people can be and I was truly blessed by all of you who participated, thank you!

Quilling Tool and Paper Flowers

We all have tools but sometimes forget about them or don’t realize that they could make our crafts so much easier.  The quilling tool is one that is a great one for those of us who like rolled paper flowers, like the ones we can cut out with our Cricut or other die cutters.  The first 3 cartridges that CTMH came out with have several wonderful designs I’ve used on cards and 3D items.  There are a total of 11 flowers in these cartridges that, of course, you can cut to many different sizes.  Here is a video on using the tool by a fellow CTMH consultand and a series of pictures of flowers and items you can make, the first one from CTMH and the others some I’ve made.  The quilling tool+Cricut make it fast, easy and simple! If you want to know how to get these tools at a special price, please contact me directly.  Enjoy the pics and video!

For the Men in your life

Real quick today … look at this cute card I made! Sorry about the fuzzy picture but I really wanted you to see it.  It’s a standard size card and I just used some paper I’ve had hanging around plus my Cricut for the little bow and badge. If you are needing a last minute card for Father’s Day or you just want to learn how to make this design, I  will be crafting tomorrow night, Friday, 7-9pm, and Saturday morning, 10 am – 1 pm, so feel free to come on over and I’ll show you how to make it! (Minimal cost of $2 per card)

Interested in a Crop?

Hello everyone!  I am just jumping back with both feet into crafting by agreeing to host my first ever scrapbook crop and I am very excited!  How else could I combine my love for crafting with my children’s sports’ activities, right?

AS most of you know I homeschool my children and we are part of a homeschool sports organization that play other schools. Since we own no facilities each team rents local parks or gyms and those can get expensive! We also have the other team incidentals of uniforms (with all the wear and tear), umpire fees, and equipment.  SO to help fundraise I thought of hosting a crop and, for my trouble, I get to spend some fun time with my friends, too!  Here’s the flyer with all the info.  Just contact me here or via email or (yay!) by text on m new cell number… all the contact info is on the flyer.  Talk to you soon!

Deal of the Decade & Cricut

Hello from your long lost friend 🙂  I’m sure most of you can relate to the wish I have of spending more time with friends.  Even though I’ve managed to craft away for this or that special occasion, it seems this poor blog just couldn’t get any “loving attention” from me which means I’ve not been communicating with you. But here’s to always trying to be better! Read to the end and I’ll share one of my recent crafts with you….

For my stamping buddies, this month’s special “Deal of the Decade” marks Close To My Heart’s 10th anniversary of the ground-breaking clear stamps, My Acrylix.

Deal of the Decade screen capture The special $10 pricing for all  C & D stamps in the current book is a tremendous value – just make a qualifying purchase of $50 and order as many of these as you would like for $10 each.  Thanks to a fellow consultant, here is a PDF with the list of all the stamps that qualify –

Deal of the Decade

This offer is only good through 12/31 so don’t miss it!

Have you looked at the new Cricut cartridge CTMH put together? Look at the wonderful cards that can be made with the Artfully Sent cartridge. Crictut Artfully Sent catridge It has pop-up cards, sentiments, envelopes and even cards that can be incorporated into the “Project My Life” albums!  Click on the picture to see a YouTube video overview – it’s fantastic!

And just so you get an idea, here’s one of the recent projects I made using my new Cricut Explore.

IMG_20141122_013306525 My 1st grandbaby is due in 2 weeks and this is a gift bag I made for my daughter’s wonderful church shower.  The joke is that my husband loves his Hawaiian shirts, so I made a onesie in a similar patterned paper (CTMH retired). I used a couple of cartridges to get the 3 elements but that is so quick and easy in either Cricut Craft room or the new Design Space, where any image I own can just be brought into my project to cut.  The “baby boy” is actually cut 3 times out of Kraft cardstock, glued stacked on top of each other to make it look like chipboard. Here’s a closeup:

IMG_20141122_013328018  Nice, right? And, oh, so easy!  I used those sticky dots in the corners to adhere the page to a paper gift bag. Since I used all CTMH products, it can just be easily taken off the bag and used in the baby’s scrapbook because it’s archival quality. How’s that for a “twofer” (two for the price of one) – a gift bag decoration that becomes a scrapbook page design!

Let me know how you liked my project and if there’s any questions about the CTMH specials this month, send that by email and I’ll get right back to you.

Gerbera Daisies with my new Explore

Hi there! I’m back from my vacations which I will share about soon. But for now let me show you something I made this weekend.  My children cause me to do things I wouldn’t do on my own and most of the time that’s a good thing. Well, my oldest heard I had saved up to buy my new Explore machine and she had a craft for us to do together. Here’s the picture and I’ll post more on it later. Aren’t these beautiful? The new Explore doesn’t just cut Cricut images but those created by others, too. This project is by a talented artist called Lia Griffith.  And, yes, the new Explore cuts beautifully!  We’ll “talk” more later!
